A Backyardigan's Birthday Bash!

The day after Christmas I went into the dining room and this is what I saw!!

It was a Backyardigans Birthday Bash just for me!

Oh, gosh! The pizza!

The cake (I had 2 pieces and then a 3rd one later)!

The scary person dressed as Tyrone! (Uncle Fred).

Thanks Grandma, Grandpa Don, Grandpa K.C., Uncle Fred, Mom, and Dad for a great party!

Leave some gumdrops for me!

Here I am decorating my first gingerbread home. Mom is just glad I have no idea that gumdrops are edible...

Next I decorated cookies with Grandma Z. I shook-shook-shook and pat-pat-patted the sprinkles!

Puppet Master

So, you may often see me running around with these animal puppets in my hands...

What you don't know is that Mom starting out by making me a small handfull...

But then I kept asking for more and more...

And, well, now our home is kinda a zoo.

I never knew Mom and Dad were such good surgeons, either, because sometimes their googly eyes fall off and we have to glue them back on at the animal hospital.

I went Trick or Treating!

At first, I just waited for kids to come to the house.

But then, I decided I wanted to go out, too! I'm big enough to trick or treat, I told Mom and Dad! Please?

So, Dad took me out and we went around the block. Here is my first house! After that, I held my pumpkin bucket all by myself and wouldn't let go!

Then we came home and I checked out my haul! This year, I'm more interested in counting my candy than I am in shaking them, like I was last year. (Also, remember Baby Shark Reagan?)

Phew! That was fun!!

Halloween Party and Parade

Happy Halloween, everyone! Today, I was Cheerleader Reagan!

I was so excited to see Mom and Dad show up at school!

First we had a party, I waited patiently for my snack. I shared my cheese puffs with Dad and my Oreos with Mom.

Then we had our parade.

I had a hard time understanding the concept of the parade...I just wanted to be with Mom and Dad. But it was fun to see all my old teachers from the Infant Room as well as all the other kids dressed up!

Megan's Birthday Party

I attended my first official birthday party (other than my own 1st birthday) last weekend. My schoolmate, Megan, had a party at the Little Gym. It was so much fun! We played on all kinds of equipment and did activities with the moon bounce, a parachute, and balls.

Here I am with Megan, the birthday girl:

Here I am playing with the blocks and tunnels:

Gosh! All that gymnastics made me hungry! I had one and a half slices of pizza afterwards. Mom says, "little bites, Reagan, little bites!"

The Super Slide!

Oh, gosh, I am so behind in my postings of my weekend adventures! I will try and catch you all up in the next few posts, so check back often.

Let's start with today! Today we went to Cox Farms and Dad and I went down so many super-duper slides! See how brave I am!

Media Relations 101

When the press comes calling with those tough questions (disguised behind a nice voice a-la-Soledad-O'Brian), here is how to deal with it. Failing investment banks and Sarah Palin, pay attention.

You can simply ignore the question, then subtly change your actions as if you had planned it that way to begin with, as demonstrated here:

Or you just walk away. Walk away.

A Room of My Own

Dad: Isn't her bedroom a "room of her own?"

Mom: Um, whatever. Can you put this furniture together now?

Introducing...my brand new playroom! It took a lot of furniture rearranging (it felt like we were moving!) But it was all worth it! Take a look!

Here is my playtable and cushions for seating. The table has three different sets of legs so that the table will grow with me over time. Shown here - "toddler table." Next will be "elementary school table (we'll add some chairs) and then "high school table" (it'll be normal desk height.) Can the roll of craft paper stay all the way through high school, Mom?

Here is my reading corner. Say "hi" to Milo the Monkey!

Here is my toy bin, it's easy for me to get out and put away all of my stuff!

Here is my art wall. it's decorated with a tree mural and has clips to hang up all of my artwork from school! Oh, and check out my tent! Cool, huh? That's where I go to relax and get away from it all. I lounge on the fluffy pillows.

Finally, here is my growth chart!

Thanks, Mom and Dad! What a wonderful place to hang out! Come on over and play!

Tool Time Girl

Sometimes I help Dad with the power tools! Here we are putting together some shelves for my new play room (the subject of my next posting).

Yeah! High five!

Flutter-flies!

We went to the Smithsonian's Butterfly Habitat and saw lots of flutterflies! (I don't know why they call it a Butterfly home when it's filled with flutterflies...)

Splish Splash!

It's hot outside! Good thing Dad let's me play in the water!

Oh, I love the water! But, no dirt. Dirt is bad. Oh, gosh! There's dirt on my hand! Dad, get it off of me! Is it still there? No? Phew. Ok.

Graduation Day

Last week, I graduated from the Infant Room to the Toddler Room at school. We had a special night and my whole class performed a Butterfly song. Video for that is coming soon...

Here I am in my pink dress! I am so happy the performance is over (oh, the pressure!) I spit out my pacifer!

Do you like to sing in the shower?

Well, I don't. (Mainly because I don't take showers).

But I do like to talk to the shower head.

Ok, I know that was a longer movie than you are used to (3:20 min) but it's a once in a lifetime moment. Now that shower head is installed in Mom's shower, so I can't play with it anymore. So sad.

Then and Now

Back in October of 2006, Mom and Dad went on a "Babymoon" to a cabin in West Virginia. A babymoon is like a "honeymoon" before the baby comes (that's me!) Here is Mom back then:

A few weeks ago, we all went back to the same cabin. This is Mom and me:

Here I am frowning at the camera with Dad. I wanted to play, not take pictures!

The best part about the trip? We went to this shop with hundreds of stuffed animals and I got to take one home! Meet "caa," or cat if I could pronounce the "t" at the end. Isn't he cute?

I love my cat! Thanks, Mom and Dad for a great weekend!

The Zoo!

A few weeks ago we went to the zoo. And, boy, I have never seen so many monkeys! Outside of school that is! Ah ha ha. No seriously...

Here I am with Dad. Not sure what I'm looking at...my shoes I think.

Here are some prairie dogs.

Here we are posing with a statue of...an anteater?

The most exciting part was all the walking I got to do on my own!

Mom had a hard time letting go.

It's ok, Mom! I'm a big girl now!

What once was lost is found again

Sometimes...you lose your ducks. But then, you find them again along the way. What a life lesson.

The Easter Bunny and I

Oh, sorry, were you expecting to see a picture of me and the Easter Bunny? Well, funny thing about that...

The last few weekends, my parents tried to take me to the mall to visit with the Easter Bunny. Every time I saw him from the second floor of the mall, I laughed and pointed and even ran into the a glass wall trying to get to him! He looked like so much fun! So huggable! So cute!

But then when we went down to the first floor to see him, he was suddenly...so...big. I cried! I shook my head, "No!" I wanted nothing to do with that giant bunny!

This happened three weeks in a row. Second floor = smiles! First floor = trepidation!

So, needless to say, no pictures with the bunny. Maybe next year.

These shoes were made for walking!

Ok, ok, so a lot of you have been asking for more videos of me walking...so here are some. I promise to post more this month!

This one is kinda funny...

Happy Birthday to Me! (and Dad)

Dad and I have birthdays one day apart, remember? Anyway, Mom and Dad sang happy birthday to me on the day I turned, "The Big One." Just ignore the confused look on my face...I know exactly what is going on and will remember this moment forever.

After the singing, I ate half a cupcake. The carrot cake was for Dad.

Music Lessons

So Uncle Fred, Grandpa KC, and my Dad have decided that I should take up cello lessons. I checked, and the smallest cello they make is still taller than I am! Plus, I think I need to start with a simpler instrument.

So Uncle Fred got my a xylophone (phew, that's hard to spell!) for my birthday! I was able to play it right out of the box...see? Who needs private lessons and music theory class and Saturday group lessons? Sorry, people. You're just going to have to wait before you start planning all my afterschool activities.

Mom? Dad? Where are you?

So here I am at Grandma's, studying the squirrel commune that lives in the backyard, and one day I couldn't find Mom and Dad. They left me here! By myself! And they went...

...to Paris?

Actually, no. I guess they went someplace called 'Las Vegas' where there are tacky replicas of world monuments. Sigh. I didn't get any cool souvenirs when they got back. Not even a T-shirt that says, "My parents went to Las Vegas and all I got was this stupid T-shirt."

Nobody knows my sorrow...

...oh, the sorrow of having the stomach flu, that is.

Apparently, just about everyone who came to my party ended up with the stomach flu. What a way to bring in the new year.

Yeah, Happy New Year to you, too. Blah.
