MOM: Why do they put cartoons on the front of diapers? She never sees the Sesame Street characters and she doesn't even know who they are. Isn't it just a waste of time?

DAD: (Thinks for a minute.) They put them there as branding for the parents. That way when you go to the store to buy toys you think of Sesame Street.

MOM: ...

It's okay, Mom. You haven't been to work in awhile. I won't tell Ben.

Mommy, you shrunk my bear!

Hi, this is me with my bear today and back on January 27th. Mommy, my bear is shrinking!!

P.S. I had my 2 month checkup on Thursday. I now weigh 11 lbs, 11 oz and am 23 inches long, putting me above the 50 percentile now.

Move over, Fred.

Mom and Dad got a new sofa to make room for our growing family. It's still going to be a tight squeeze...

What? You don't see me?

My eyelashes, I mean. Grandma thought I didn't have any when I was born. I just want to assure everyone that I do and they are beautiful, if I do say so myself.

Oh what a difference a day makes

Mom is so proud of the progress I have made this week during Tummy Time. Look and see how far I have come in my BEFORE and AFTER pictures! I also can scoot myself forward with my feet!

Happy One Month Birthday to ME!!

I am one month old today! Hurray for me!!

Happy Valentine's Day, Mom!

So, this is what happened. Mom went out to run some errands. She made it to the pet store, Target, and the grocery store in under 90 minutes. She is an errand machine.

She comes home and Dad says, "Reagan has a Valentine for you."

And then he shows Mom my toes.

Yup. Dad has painted my toenails. Dad says this is what happens when Mom leaves me alone with him.

My First Shower

I had my first "shower" under the kitchen faucet today. This is the 5th faucet Mom has made Dad change in this house. But this one was worth all the groaning and swearing under the sink, right Dad? Dad?

Mom! I'm full...for now.

This is me when I have had enough to eat.

Ahhh, yes, that feeling lasts about 1.75 to 2.67 hours. I think Mom wishes it would last longer.

Grandpa KC Visits!

Grandpa KC has come for a visit from frigid Detroit. In just 24 hours, he managed to feed me 4 times and explain to me the importance of classical music.

I might have accidentally slept through the latter.

Overheard

Dad: Can we pierce her ears yet?

Mom: (stony silence)

Mom: No.

Not average, just median?

I had my two week checkup today.

Weight: 8 lbs 2 oz = 50th percentile
Lenght: 29 1/4 in = 50th percentile
Head circumference: 14 1/18 in = 50th percentile

The nurse said I was perfectly proportioned. Then she asked Mom if she understood what "percentile" meant. Former-math-teacher-Mom refrained from giving her the look of death.

Oh, and my belly button thingy fell off today.

Uncle Fred!

Well, the venerable Uncle Fred has come down for a visit from New Haven. Thank god he did not read to me from his law journals.

My First Bath

Daddy gave my my first bath today...ok, he just wiped me down with a wet towel. I cried.

I've arrived!

Phew! I'm here and I'm fabulous! Dad guessed I would be 7 and a half pounds and he was close! 7 lbs, 6 oz, 19.5 inches...and fantastic Apgar scores if I don't say so myself. Not that I am for the over testing of youth or anything.

It's time!

FINALLY! Dad's birthday is over...it's my turn now!

Today was my due date! Oh well, Mom, maybe tomorrow...

Yoga anyone?

Mom seems a little restless...she keeps telling me to stop doing the 'Downward Facing Dog,' which I guess is a yoga pose. She keeps saying, "Reagan, HUG YOUR KNEES. PLEASE." I'll think about it. I'm guessing 'Warrior Pose' is out of the question.
